The History Annex was founded by Gary Nelson, PhD, to afford a better understanding of history online. The centerpiece of the site is a series of topical surveys based on Mr. Nelson's lesson plans while he was teaching history at Tulane University and Oakland City University. Because the site is in the early stages of development, new lessons will be added daily. The goal is to build a repository of American and European history from ancient times to the present.

Among the exciting features of the History Annex are sections that allow readers to browse the visual side of history through art, posters, furniture, collectibles, and more.
